Identification of potential micro-messenger RNAs (miRNA–mRNA) interaction network of osteosarcoma

Abstract: Osteosarcoma (OS) is the most common primary malignant tumor in children and adolescents. Numerous studies have reported the importance of miRNA in OS. The purpose of this study is to predict potential biomarkers and new therapeutic targets for OS diagnosis and prognosis by analyzing miRNAs of OS plasma samples from the Gene Expression Omnibus (GEO) database.Data-sets were downloaded from the GEO and analyzed using R software. Different expressions of miRNAs (DE-miRNAs) in plasma and mRNAs (DE-mRNAs) in OS pat… Show more

“…Accumulated research data showed that miRNAs were important regulators in cancer progression by regulating cell functions in various cancers, including OS [11,14]. In addition, studies have analyzed the expression of miR-NAs in OS plasma samples in the Gene Expression Comprehensive database and found that the expression of miRNAs in OS patients was abnormally expressed when comparing with the controls [26]. This study found and confirmed that miR-488-3p was targeted by circ-NT5C2.…”

“…Several studies have reported that NDN plays a tumor-suppressing role in various tumors [ 17–19 ]. Our results suggested that miR-200c may affect the occurrence and development of OS by regulating the expression of NDN, which has not been reported in a study of new therapeutic targets for OS [ 31 ]. Moreover, these results have also provided the required insight for identifying the pathway involving miR-200c that leads to inhibition of OS in subsequent studies.…”

“…Another study indicated that p53-induced miR-30e-5p resists colorectal carcinoma invasion and metastasis by targeting the integrin subunits, beta 1 and alpha 6 [ 11 ]. Recent study also showed that miR-30e-5p is a hub miRNA that may be used as an effective biomarker and a novel therapeutic target in osteosarcoma [ 36 ]. However, the specific relationship between miR-30e-5p and PCa has not yet been reported.…”
