Recently, some authors reported the association of phytoplasmas with the MMD (El-Banna and El-Deeb 2001; Kazmi et al 2007;Fahmeed et al 2009;Castañeda-Alvarez et al 2018;Kirdat et al 2019;Rao et al 2020).
