Abstract:A material with high thermal conductivity and mechanical strength at elevated temperatures is required for certain aerospace applications. Copper based alloys precipitation hardened with near zero solubility phases are candidate materials. Utilizing rapid solidification technology, elements such as Cr and Nb can be dissolved into liquid copper and fully precipitated out in the solid state. However, such elemental precipitates readily coarsen at elevated temperatures. The aim of this work was to create a more s… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
