“…As shown by the standardized coefficients plot of the calibration model (Fig. 7C), 21 peaks (1,5,7,9,10,11,12,14,18,19,22,25,26,27,29,30,31,32,33,36 and 39) out of 39 ngerprints in the HPLC chromatogram were negatively correlated, while the remaining peaks were positively correlated with EC 50 . The peak 3, 7, 9, 10, 14 and 18 in HPLC ngerprints were identied as liquiritin apioside, liquiritin, isoliquiritin apioside, isoliquiritin, liquiritigenin and isoliquiritigenin by comparing the retention times and on-line UV spectra with reference standards.…”

“…Recently, owing to clear analytical advantages such as, simple sample preparation, short measurement time and low experiment costs, IR/UV spectroscopic ngerprinting in combination with chemometrics have been used for TCM/HM quality control. [8][9][10][11] MIR spectra based on molecular vibration and rotation 12 give not only characteristic absorption bands at specic, narrow frequency ranges due to the presence of specic chemical groups, 13 but also ngerprint absorption bands arising from chemical bonds such as C-C, C-N, C-O, C-H, N-H and O-H widely present in natural products in the 1300-400 cm À1 region. 14 This provides us with a great deal of structural information about all compounds present in TCM/HM, especially saturated bonds.…”
