“…Those five patients each showed a significant increase in volume during follow-up: whole-brain normalized volume +5.9%, GM normalized volume +1.4%, WM normalized volume +10%. This was expected, since corticosteroids are known to lead to reductions in volume after they are newly started, an effect lasting from weeks to months [ 18 , 19 ].
