Abstract:Agarwood is a secretion produced by certain trees of the Aquilaria genus in the Thymelaeaceae family after they suffer external damage. It is a mixture formed by the infiltration of various secondary metabolites, including chromones, sesquiterpenes, and resins, into the wood.
