“…Hexachlorobutadiene (HCBD), a man-made chlorohydrocarbon, has been listed as a candidate persistent organic pollutant (POP) by the Stockholm Convention in 2011 for its persistence, toxicity, bioaccumulation, and potential long-range transport abilities . It was used as an agricultural fumigant, intermediate in rubber, chlorofluorocarbons and lubricants, hydraulic, heat transfer or transformer liquid, laboratory reagents, as well as wash liquid for removing some hydrocarbons. − HCBD has been detected in various samples such as biota, − food, − water, , leachate, sediment, air, and sewage sludge. − To our knowledge, HCBD is not intentionally produced in large commercial quantities in China but may be unintentionally produced. Thus, investigations on the local or regional contamination and distributions of HCBD in China are urgently needed.…”
