Abstract:Icleia Borsa Cattani (1951), art historian, theorist and critic, is an unavoidable figure when it comes to understanding the institutionalization of criticism and theory of modern and contemporary art, especially in Rio Grande do Sul. In this article, we will briefly follow the intellectual trajectory of Icleia Cattani, highlighting her education, the ties she established with her generation, the paths she helped consolidate and her theoretical proposals linked to art criticism.
