Innovation in formal and practical learning is an accepted progression and its adoption in learning methodologies is a sign that a respective society is open to new technologies, ideas, and, thus, to advancement. The latest innovation in teaching is the use of Augmented Reality. Applications using this technology have been deployed successfully in STEM(Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) education for delivering the practical and creative parts of the education. Since Augmented Reality technology has already a large volume of published studies about education that reports advantages, limitations, effectiveness, and challenges of AR in education, classifying these projects will allow for a review of the success of Augmented Reality integration in the different educational settings and discover current challenges and future research areas.<div>The main findings of this paper are the generation of a detailed taxonomy of the current literature which outlines the current challenges, the use of this taxonomy to identify future research areas, and finally to report on the development of two case studies that can highlight the first steps need to address these research areas. The result of this research ultimately is to detail the research gap that is needed to be filled to facilitate real-time touchless hand interaction, kinesthetic learning, machine learning agents with a remote learning pedagogy.</div>

The domain of cultural-educational and tourist environments has entered the digital age, this allows the implementation of technologies of Augmented Reality (AR) to improve the user experience in these environments, and entails the possibility of providing greater satisfaction to the user visiting these locations. Hence, the problem was formulated. What is the effect of integrating AR to improve the user interaction of a cultural-educational environment? Case: UPTC natural history museum. It presents a documentary research that analyzes studies on AR, view it as a tool of support for learning and entertainment processes through the recognition of cultural, educational and tourist locations. We sought to identify the applicability of AR in cultural settings for didactic, adaptive and learning purposes, based on the concept of 'Edutainment'. Research methods: logical analysis and generaliaation of scientific literature, both absolute and relative statistical data and case studies. The analysis, obtaining, design, development, evaluation and implementation, methodology for projects based on AR was used for thi work; applied in 34% of the works identified. It sought to recognise the characteristics and advantages of using AR technology as a resource to improve the user experience, combined technology and entertainment to achieve learning objectives. With the fast paced improvements in smart devices such as tablets and smartphones, many schools in the developed countries are trying to improve the traditional pedagogical methods by harnessing smart learning technology for different purposes. In this paper, we proposed the use of a smart novel educational technology to immerse the students in the learning process by engaging as many of the students' senses as possible through the creation of interactive elements and entertaining features. This process is also called edutainment, combining both education and entertainment, and it works by making students learn subconsciously in an immersive manner. The aim of this paper is to demonstrate how an immersive augmented reality application can work in conjunction with Arabic schoolbooks in an attempt to improve Arabic literacy for children in the UAE. The reason for this is that children in the UAE are being exposed to English most of the time and, as a consequence, gradually losing their mother tongue. A focus field-study was then conducted on two groups of Grade 1 students to get a preunderstanding in the impact of such educational technology, targeted for younger learners, in language literacy education.
