Abstract: Cholera represents a diarrheal disease caused by the Gram-negative bacteriumVibrio cholerae. Its environmental persistence causing recurring sudden outbreaks is enabled byV. cholerae'srapid adaption to changing environments involving sensory proteins like ToxR and ToxS.
