“…Furthermore, snails of Lymnaeidae, Physidae, and Planorbidae are often found to be the intermediate host of bird schistosomes (Horák et al 1999(Horák et al , 2010(Horák et al , 2015Brant and Loker 2009;Marszewsk et al 2018). Although no reports of human cercarial dermatitis caused by avian schistosomes have been found in Thailand, furcocercous cercariae of Trichobilharzia maegraithi were reported from the northeast and north of Thailand, first in 1967, where infected ducks occurred in a pond in Kalasin Province with infected Radix (Lymnaea) rubiginosa (Kruatrachue et al 1968). In addition, six R. (L.) rubiginosa from freshwater reservoirs in Phayao Province, north Thailand, were infected with T. regenti (Japa et al 2021).…”

“…Although T. maegraithi spp. nov. was first recorded in Thailand in 1967 by means of morphological identification [ 44 ], its molecular identity has never been confirmed. Detection of Trichobilharzia cercariae infecting R. rubiginosa in this study demonstrated that the spreading of avian blood fluke cercariae is not restricted to Europe or America, but also occurs in the Thai aquatic environment.…”

“…Na África, Ásia e Oceania, os relatos de DC por parasitos de aves são escassos, existindo registros na África do Sul (3,16), Austrália (4,6,57), China (50,53), Índia (1), Irã (22), Japão (33,80), Nova Zelândia (56), Tailândia (44), dentre outros países. Na América do Sul, casos de DC por esquistosomatídeos de aves foram apenas relatados na Argentina (11,82,83) (29,36,86).…”
