Retracted: Effects of MicroRNA‐19b on the Proliferation, Apoptosis, and Migration of Wilms’ Tumor Cells Via the PTEN/PI3K/AKT Signaling Pathway

Abstract: Wilms' tumor (WT) is a most common renal cancer that occurs among children, and microRNA-19b (miR-19b) usually participates in various human cancers. Importantly, the PTEN/PI3K/Akt signaling pathway plays a key role in cell apoptosis, growth and proliferation. Thus, our present study aims to investigate the effect of miR-19b on the PTEN/PI3K/Akt signaling pathway during WT cell proliferation, migration, and apoptosis. WT tissues and adjacent normal tissues from WT patients were collected. qRT-PCR was applied t… Show more

“…Previously, miR‐21 has been functionally demonstrated as an anti‐apoptosis factor in glioblastomas . Furthermore, the PTEN/PI3K/AKT signaling pathway plays a crucial role in cell growth, apoptosis, as well as proliferation in Wilms’ Tumor . However, there are few studies focusing on the mechanism of the role of miR‐21 in cell proliferation and apoptosis in glioma by targeting specific genes .…”

“…Tumor. 21 However, there are few studies focusing on the mechanism of the role of miR-21 in cell proliferation and apoptosis in glioma by targeting specific genes. 22 Therefore, the present study explored the expression of miR-21 in human glioma and its effect on the cell proliferation, senescence, and apoptosis by targeting SPRY1 through the PTEN/PI3K/AKT signaling pathway.…”

“…18 In the P13K/AKT pathway, following the activation of PI3K, 3,4,5-phosphatidylinositol trisphosphate phosphorylation is catalyzed and the protein kinase AKT is activated to promote the growth and proliferation of cells. 19 Our investigation of the specific mechanism of PRDX in EC cells showed that the effects of silencing PRDX1 alone and adding the P13K/AKT pathway inhibitor alone were similar. Both interventions inhibited the proliferation and clonality of ESCC cells and increased the rate of apoptosis.…”

“…To a further extent, PI3K/AKT/mTOR is identified as a highly enriched pathway in translocation RCC with TFE3 fusion (TFE3-tRCC) by miRNA microarray analysis [258]. Besides that PIK3R1 regulates EMT and stem-like phenotype of RCC cells through the AKT/GSK3β/CTNNB1 pathway [259], FoxO, PKCε, TPD52, NOTCH1, ETS2, miR-19b, -122, -182, -193a-3p, -195, and -224, as well as LncRNA MALAT1, TP73-AS1 and HOTTIP modulate proliferation, apoptosis, invasion, metastasis, or EMT via PI3K/ AKT pathway [260][261][262][263][264][265][266][267][268][269][270][271][272]. However, only a few of clinical trials of PI3K/AKT inhibitors in touch try to offer hope for KC patients (Tables 2 and 3).…”
