Regulated time and expansive time in primary school mathematics

Abstract

worked for the Inner London Education Authority (ILEA) for a number of years as a secondary school teacher, curriculum designer and advisory teacher before joining Sheffield Hallam University where she is now Professor of Mathematics Education. Her research centres on social justice issues in mathematics education. Current research interests include all attainment teaching, transformative learning in mathematics classrooms and the role of historical awareness in combating neoliberalism. She is also involved in curriculum development and has led a number of such projects related to school mathematics, most recently Mathematics in the Making (MiMa) (http://mathematicsinthemaking.eu/) and the Project in Citizenship and Mathematics (PiCaM) (http://www.citizenship-and-mathematics.eu/).
