PRINTZINA GEN. NOV. (TRENTEPOHLIACEAE), INCLUDING A DESCRIPTION OF A NEW SPECIES1

Abstract: Examination of Trentepohlia Martius species indicated significant morphological diversity within the genus. This diversity forms the basis for the description of a new genus, Printzina Thompson and Wujek. The generic taxonomy is based on the nature of its superficial growth on leaves or twigs and a papilla pore basal on the sporangium, adjacent to the area of attachment.
