N-Bromosuccinimide as Bromide Precursor for Direct Synthesis of Stable and Highly Luminescent Green-Emitting Perovskite Nanocrystals

Abstract: Stable green-emitting perovskite nanocrystals (NCs) with general formula APbBr 3 , exhibiting a high photoluminescence quantum yield (PLQY), narrow bandwidth, and adjustable PL in the 510−535 nm region are coveted materials for optoelectronic applications. A generic method of obtaining both hybrid and all-inorganic perovskite NCs with the desired characteristics is, however, lacking. Herein, we report a methodology for the synthesis of CsPbBr 3 , FAPbBr 3 , and MAPbBr 3 NCs employing N-bromosuccinimide as the … Show more

“…56 NBS was reported as a bromide precursor for stable and highly luminescent perovskite nanocrystals. 57 Our results suggests that NBS is potentially active for halide exchange, grain growth and device stability. The NBS treatment and its role was probed using an array of spectroscopic techniques, including PM-IRRAS measurements.…”

“…Likewise, the ester linked biologically relevant motifs 8g and 8n also show intense emission bands and could be useful as fluorescent drug carriers as well as fluorescent probes for cell imaging. 50 The enhanced fluorescence properties of π-extended scaffolds 5o and 5q with a longer life time 70 (3.42 ns for 5o ; Fig. 5D ) are notable and could be applicable for potential material applications.…”

“…Other alternatives are based on synthetic routes using three precursors (each one for Cs, Pb, and Br, respectively), where several bromide sources (e.g., TOP-Br 2 , N-bromosuccinimide, trimethylsilyl bromide, benzoyl bromide, alkylammonium bromides, ionic liquids) [64,[94][95][96][97][98][99] are Reproduced and adapted, with permission, from [93].…”
