In Vitro α-Amylase, α-Glucosidase, Pancreatic Lipase, Xanthine Oxidase Inhibiting Activity of Agaricus bisporus Extracts

Abstract: In this study, the α-amylase inhibitory activity, α-glucosidase inhibitory activity, pancreatic lipase inhibitory activity, and Xanthine Oxidase inhibitory activity of the fruiting body extracts of 5 varieties of Agaricus bisporus (AB) were confirmed. First, the α-amylase inhibitory activity of AB12, AB13, AB18, AB34, and AB40 methanol extracts was lower than that of acarbose, a positive control, in all concentration ranges. The α-glucosidase inhibitory activity of the AB40, AB13, and AB… Show more

“…These conditions facilitate the collection of a majority of metabolites, which tend to be more soluble in polar solvents such as 80% methanol. The resulting filtrate was concentrated using a rotary evaporator (Rotavapor ® , Heidolph, Schwabach, Germany) at 40-50 • C. The obtained extract was stored at 4 • C in a clean, closed container until further use [16].…”

“…Chronic metabolic diseases, including diabetes, hyperuricemia, and gout, are on the rise, primarily attributed to an irregular diet, extravagant nutrient intake, heightened mental stress, and a lack of physical exercise [1]. Approximately 537 million people were affected by diabetes in 2021, and projections indicate a further increase to 643 million by 2030 [2].…”
