In Vitro and In Vivo Characterization of Temoporfin-Loaded Pegylated Plga Nanoparticles for Use in Photodynamic Therapy

Abstract: The objective of this study was to develop angiopoietin-1 (Ang1)-expressing genetically modified human adipose tissue derived stem cells (hASCs) for myocardial therapy. For this, an efficient gene delivery system using recombinant baculovirus complexed with cell penetrating transactivating transcriptional activator TAT peptide/deoxyribonucleic acid nanoparticles (Bac-NP), through ionic interactions, was used. It was hypothesized that the hybrid Bac- NP(Ang1) system can efficiently transduce hASCs and induces f… Show more

“…A number of liposome encapsulated anticancer and anti-microbial agents have entered routine clinical arena. Another class of promising nanoparticles for encapsulation are the FDA approved biocompatible and biodegradable polymers such as poly (D,L-lactic-co-glycolic acid) (PLGA), poly (D,L-lacticacid) (PLA), poly (D,L-lactic-co-glycolic acid)-polyethylene glycol (PEG-PLGA) [3,4].…”

“…31,32 These drawbacks can be overcome by introduced D-α-tocopheryl polyethylene glycol (PEG) 2000 succinate (TPGS 2k ) to PGA, PCL, and PGA-co-PCL. 13,33 TPGS 2k , a water-soluble derivative of natural vitamin E, is formed by esterification of vitamin E succinate with PEG 2000. The chemical structure of TPGS is hydrophilic polar head group and lipophilic alkyl tail.…”
