In vitro and in vivo antioxidant therapeutic evaluation of Dodonaea viscosa Jacq.

Abstract: Context: Natural antioxidants are vital to promote health and treat critical diseased conditions in the modern healthcare system. Objective: This work adds to the index of natural medicines by exploring the antioxidant potential of Dodonaea viscosa Jacq. (Plant-DV). Material and methods: The aqueous extract of leaves and seeds from plant-DV in freshly prepared phosphate buffer is evaluated for antioxidant potential. In vitro antioxidant potential of the nascent and oxidatively stressed extracts was analyzed th… Show more

“…Many biological entities produce catalase to counteract oxidative stress by neutralizing reactive oxygen species, which are often prevalent in conditions like aging, cataracts, and cancer. [ 62,78 ] Consequently, assessing catalase levels serves as another method to gauge oxidative stress. The catalase assay outcomes are depicted in Figure 10E.…”

“…According to the method adopted by Khan et al (2022) [ 78 ], different concentrations of OrP were added to 40 mM hydrogen peroxide solution (0.6 mL). After 10 min, the absorbance of the hydrogen peroxide at 230 nm was read against the blank solution containing the phosphate buffer without the hydrogen peroxide.…”

“…Hence, a binary logistic regression (BLR) method was used for the analysis of farmers' perceptions of climate change and the suggested coping strategies among smallholder irrigators. Several publications such as Alemayehu and Bewket (2017), Khan et al (2020), and Ali et al (2021) have used the BLR to analyse coping strategies in farming systems. This analysis helps to understand smallholder irrigators' perception of climate change and the benefits to adapt to climate change in the schemes.…”
