Gwaihir: Jupyter Notebook graphical user interface for Bragg coherent diffraction imaging

Abstract: Bragg coherent X-ray diffraction is a nondestructive method for probing material structure in three dimensions at the nanoscale, with unprecedented resolution in displacement and strain fields. This work presents Gwaihir, a user-friendly and open-source tool to process and analyze Bragg coherent X-ray diffraction data. It integrates the functionalities of the existing packages bcdi and PyNX in the same toolbox, creating a natural workflow and promoting data reproducibility. Its graphical interface, based on Ju… Show more

“…33 Gwaihir, a user-friendly and open-source Jupyter notebook graphical user interface, was used to process and analyze the Bragg coherent X-ray diffraction data. 34 The phase corresponds to the projection of the displacement field onto the scattering vector (here, Q 220 ). The retrieved phase is then processed to establish the maps of displacement and strain within the single NC using the BCDI python package.…”

“…After the removal of the phase ramp and phase offset (calculated at the center of mass of the support), the data was finally interpolated onto an orthogonal grid for ease of visualization. Both the bcdi and cdiutils packages, as well as the Gwaihir GUI, were used for the later post-processing part.…”
