E0transitions inKr82

Abstract: The first excited 0+ state of Kr appears to have a noncollective nature, in contrast to the 03 and other low-spin states in this nucleus. This is corroborated by a conversion-electron measurement of the 0&+~0+& and the 0+3 -+0~transitions in Kr, following the decay of Rbg. The values 8(EO;Oq+ -+0+q) =3.1(5) e fm" and X3» --8(EO;Oq+ -+0+q}/8(E2;0+3 -+2+&) =0.097(24) have been deduced from the intensities of the conversion lines, observed with a mini-orange spectrometer. Previous theoretical and experimental inv… Show more

“…In Table I [1,13,14], are compared with the predictions of the IBM-2 model calculated for the same set of parameters given in Ref. [1].It is seen that the decay properties of the 02 state in Kr are well reproduced, thus strengthening our belief that also for this state there is no need to invoke configurations lying outside the model space.…”

“…[17]) lead to the adopted assignments given in column 9(b). As to point (b), we observe that the logft values [17]from the J=O and the J=4 states of Rb to the 22 and 23 states allow one to assign negative parity to both [13,14] 0.030(10) 0.008 (3) Theor. states, on the basis of the rules given in Ref.…”

“…The recent identification of this state and the measurement of its E0 decay in 72 Kr [13] and in 74 Kr [14,15] made it possible to complete the information on the 0 + 2 state from A = 72 to A = 82 [16] with the only exception of 76 Kr. Concerning the states of negative parity, several bands have been observed all along the isotopic chain and an important theoretical effort has been devoted to their interpretation, whereas experimental information on levels not belonging to bands, which could help in understanding the structure of the states at low energy, is very scanty.…”

“…However, the lack of experimental data on the transition strengths from the 0 states in even krypton isotopes did not allow for a more definite conclusion. Actually, the only experimental study so far reported in the literature concerns the decay of the Oz+ and 03+ states in Kr [9].…”
