Abstract:A discussion on the article by Quinde et al. is presented. The methodology introduced by the authors is based on residual displacements computed from the inelastic response of elastoplastic single-degree-of-freedom systems subjected to synthetic ground motions representative of those recorded at soft soil sites in Mexico City.
