Daiquiri: a web-based user interface framework for beamline control and data acquisition

Abstract: Daiquiri is a web-based user interface (UI) framework for control system monitoring and data acquisition designed for synchrotron beamlines. It provides simple, intuitive and responsive interfaces to control and monitor hardware, launch acquisition sequences and manage associated metadata. Daiquiri concerns itself only with the UI layer; it does not provide a scan engine or controls system but can be easily integrated with existing systems.

“…In addition, Web-based user interfaces, such as Web-Ice (Gonza ´lez et al, 2008), WIFIP (Sallaz-Damaz & Ferrer, 2017), Sirepo (Rakitin et al, 2018) and Daiquiri (Fisher et al, 2021) are becoming more and more common these days. This is presumably because using a technology stack like that used for the Web saves time and effort in building applications.…”

“…At these beamlines, single point XAS spectra were recorded in transmission mode under vacuum conditions and a beam with sizes (h × v) of 300 × 300 μm 2 and ~70 × 200 μm 2 , respectively. At ID21 data were recorded via the new-developed Daiquiri web-based user interface framework [49] from a thin layer of powder fixed on S-free tape, by scanning the primary energy around the S K-edge (from 2.45 to 2.65 keV range; energy step: 0.2 eV) and Cd L 3 -edge (from 3.51 to 3.65 keV; energy step: 0.3 eV) and using a photodiode as detector. At BM08-LISA spectral profiles were collected using ion chambers filled with N 2 gas.…”
