Angiostrongylus‐associated pneumonia in a red panda (Ailurus fulgens)

Abstract: A red panda (Ailurus fulgens) within a zoological collection was noted by keepers to be acutely dyspnoeic with no apparent premonitory signs and died before intervention. Postmortem examination demonstrated severe verminous pneumonia with concurrent pulmonary thromboarteritis and splenic infarction, attributed to Angiostrongylus vasorum infection.
