Abstract

Ac.ti.no.my.ce.to.spo'ra. N.L. masc. n. actinomyces ‐etis (from Gr. fem. n. aktis ‐inos , ray, beam and Gr. masc. n. mukês ‐êtos , mushroom or other fungus), an actinomycete; Gr. fem. n. spora , a seed and, in biology, a spore; N.L. fem. n. Actinomycetospora , referring to an actinomycete with spore chains. Actinobacteria / Actinobacteria / Pseudonocardiales / Pseudonocardiaceae / Actinomycetospora Aerobic, Gram‐positive, non‐acid‐fast, and nonmotile actinomycetes. Substrate mycelium fragments into rod‐shaped elements or not. Short spore chains are generally formed directly on the substrate mycelium, while sporangia may be formed directly on the substrate hyphae. Substrate mycelium fragments into rod‐shaped elements, while some members do not exhibit hyphal fragmentation. The cell wall contains meso ‐diaminopimelic acid. Whole‐cell hydrolysates contain arabinose and galactose (cell‐wall chemotype IV). Phosphatidylcholine and phosphatidylethanolamine are the diagnostic phospholipids. The predominant menaquinone is MK‐8(H 4 ). The major cellular fatty acids are iso‐C 16:0 , C 16:1 ω7 c /iso‐C 15:0 2‐OH, C 16:0 , and/or iso‐C 15:0 . The genus belongs to the family Pseudonocardiaceae . Comparative analyses of the 16S rRNA gene sequence showed that its closest related taxon is the genus Pseudonocardia .
