Hypofractionated Radiotherapy Dose Scheme and Application of New Techniques Are Associated to a Lower Incidence of Radiation Pneumonitis in Breast Cancer Patients

Abstract: Purpose: Radiation pneumonitis (RP) is one of the most severe toxicities experienced by patients with breast cancer after radiotherapy (RT). “…Our previous study showed that VMAT influenced RP; ipsilateral lung V 30 Gy > 10% was associated with RP (HR 2.89) and VMAT remained significant for determining the lung V 30 Gy (OR 0.12) 9 .
