Abstract: 40 g, 0.22 mol, Pierce Chemical Co.) was converted to the phenol, in 63% yield, in the manner described above: bp 91-93 °C (20 mm); n24D 1.4440 [lit.1 23 bp 92 °C (25 mm); n25D 1.4469].
