Behavioral non-communicable disease as a chronic disease is a health challenge in the 21st century because it is a major contributor to global mortality. Soppeng Regency, one of the regencies in the South Sulawesi region, faces the problem of the high prevalence of behavioral non-communicable diseases (NCDs) in the future. The study analyzes the spatial distribution and prevalence of behavioral NCDs in the Soppeng Regency. Primary data was obtained from the compilation of monthly reports from 17 public health centers in the administrative area of the Soppeng district. Meanwhile, spatial data was obtained from Soppeng district spatial plans (RTRW) maps, BPS of Soppeng district, RBI map, and the National DEM Image. Hypertension and diabetes data sets were applied to the prevalence rate formula and analyzed using Microsoft Office and SPSS ver. 21.0. The results showed the fifth highest prevalence rate of hypertension 2016-2018 occurred in Barang village, Jampu village, Marioriaja village, Maccile village, and Kessing village by an average of 19.19%, 3.55%, 2.73%, 6.24%, and 3.78% respectively. Meanwhile, distribution of the prevalence rate of diabetes in 2016-2018 was high in the five villages of Maccile (6.24%), Barang (5.27%), Botto (4.93%), Lemba (4.35%), and Soga (1.08%), respectively. Analysis showed variations in levels between sub-districts in the two types of behavioral non-communicable diseases.

Abstrak: Penyakit hipertensi merupakan penyakit kardiovaskuler penyebab kematian terbanyak dan mengalami peningkatan setiap tahun. Prevalensi hipertensi di Indonesia cenderung mengalami peningkatan di seluruh provinsi. Salah satu intervensi hipertensi non farmakologis yang dapat dilakukan adalah aromaterapi. Studi ini merupakan literature review yang bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh aromaterapi terhadap penurunan tekanan darah pada pasien hipertensi. Literature review ini menganalisis 13 artikel yang berasal dari database jurnal yaitu Google Schollar, Proquest dan Science Direct dengan dengan kata kunci “aromatheraphy”, “blood pressure” dan “hypertension”. Hasil dari analisis menunjukkan bahwa aromaterapi dapat menurunkan tekanan darah pada pasien dengan hipertensi. Selain itu, kombinasi aromaterapi dengan intervensi lain seperti terapi musik, meditasi dan napas dalam juga efektif dalam menurunkan tekanan darah pada pasien hipertensi. Hasil dari literature review ini diharapakan penentuan dosis dan konsentrasi yang paling efektif dalam menurunkan tekanan darah pada pasien hipertensi. Kata Kunci: aromaterapi, hipertensi, tekanan darah.

Association between Drug-Related Problems and Blood Pressure of Hypertensive Patients Admitted to Universitas Sumatera Utara Hospital

Patients with hypertension usually experience chronic comorbidities and complications that require complex treatment (polypharmacy), which can further cause drug-related problems (DRPs) and interfere with the required clinical outcomes. This study, by using a case-control prospective cross-sectional, aimed to analyze the association between DRPs and blood pressures (BPs) of hypertensive patients admitted to Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) hospital from July to September 2021. The incidence of DRPs was analyzed and classified according to the Cipolle classification system and reliable literature. Blood pressures of the patients were classified into controlled and uncontrolled BPs. The association between DRPs and BP was analyzed using the Chi-Square test. Most of the patients (57.5%) were female. Their mean age was 59±9.94 (years). The mean incidence of DRPs experienced by the patients was 1.78±0.79. The most frequently occurred DRPs were drug interactions. There was a significant association between the number of DRPs experienced by the patients and their BPs (p=0.02). DRPs are the contributing factor to the uncontrolled BPs of hypertensive patients.
