Hyperphagia and Down Syndrome

Abstract: CASE 1: A.Z. is a 14-year-old young boy with Down syndrome and intellectual disability. As a baby and toddler, A.Z. struggled with swallowing dysfunction and recurrent aspiration, which improved by the time he was school aged. At the age of 2 years, his body mass index (BMI) was 95.98% (Z score 1.75). During his early school-age years, A.Z. began eating a wider variety of foods.
