Hyperinsulinemia is associated with adipocyte hypertrophy and mitochondrial dysfunction

Abstract: Insulin resistance is often associated with hypertrophy of adipocytes. Furthermore, hyperinsulinaemia may mediatechanges in cellular mitochondrial biogenesis and function.
