“…the information that can be extracted from the IS calculations and used for the PNC analysis is limited by the accuracy of the SMS calculations. Unless adequate methods are a Coc et al [30,31] developed to significantly improve the accuracy of such calculations it is unlikely that the IS data will provide information of any practical use for PNC analysis. The situation is very different for heavier atoms, such as Fr, Tl, etc.…”

“…We study the evolution of the odd-even staggering of binding energies along the francium and radium isotopic chains and of its lowest-order estimator, 3 (N ). An enhancement of the staggering of 3 (N ) is observed towards neutron number N = 146, which points to contributions beyond pairing correlations. These contributions are investigated in the Hartree-Fock and Hartree-Fock-Bogoliubov approaches, emphasizing the connections to the single-particle level density and nuclear deformation.…”

“…For the case where the proton and neutron spins are the same, the g factor of the weakly coupled pn configuration is independent of the spin to which they couple to. Individual empirical g factors for π 1h 9/2 and ν2g 9/2 were taken from the magnetic moments of the closest odd-A isotopes available: 213 Fr [35] and 211 Po [48], respectively. Additionally, the ν1i 11/2 and ν2g 7/2 orbitals are also in the near vicinity [15] and their contributions to the total g factor due to configuration mixing with the ν2g 9/2 orbital need to be considered.…”

“…The center of gravity of the hyperfine spectrum of 214 Fr was compared to the reference isotope, 221 Fr, for extraction of the isotope shift. All other measured observables were determined relative to 210 Fr, using: [35], I π = 6 + [36], and [37]. The changes in the mean-square charge radii were extracted by using the equation…”
