Hyperfine fields acting on diamagnetic impurities and the anisotropic exchange via the s‐ and d‐electrons in the rare‐earth metals

Abstract: 103Using the Mossbauer effect the hyperfine fields for the tin impurity in the dysprosium host is measured over the temperature range 6 to 293 K. Two hyperfine fields are found in the ferromagnetic region, which differ one from another by ~2 0 % .In passing through the Curie point the shape of the spectrum drastically changes by smearing because of the superposition of many hyperfine fields in the antiferromagnetic region.
