Hyperbolic polaritonic crystals with configurable low-symmetry Bloch modes

Abstract: Photonic crystals (PhCs) are a kind of artificial structures that can mold the flow of light at will. Polaritonic crystals (PoCs) made from polaritonic media offer a promising route to controlling nano-light at the subwavelength scale. Conventional bulk PhCs and recent van der Waals PoCs mainly show highly symmetric excitation of Bloch modes that closely rely on lattice orders. Here, we experimentally demonstrate a type of hyperbolic PoCs with configurable and low-symmetry deep-subwavelength Bloch modes that a… Show more

“…During the process, a thick EDL is constructed between the two-phase In 2 O 3 compound, which increases the resistance value of the material. When the gas sensor is in contact with acetic anhydride, the acetic anhydride molecule reacts with the adsorbed O – , and the electrons return to the In 2 O 3 conduction band, causing both the Schottky barrier height and the sensor resistance value to decrease. , …”

“…α-MoO 3 slabs with nanometer thicknesses were prepared by a mechanical exfoliation method. , A spatially selective etching technique was used to pattern thickness variations on the as-prepared slabs (Figure S1). In brief, a layer of photoresist (AZ1512HS) was spin-coated on the slabs supported by a SiO 2 /Si substrate at 3000 rpm for 45 s with an acceleration speed of 500 rpm s –1 , followed by an annealing treatment at 90 °C for 1 min.…”
