Abstract:Antimalarial agents have been used to treat various autoimmune rheumatic diseases for over a century. Hydroxychloroquine is a safe, effective and inexpensive antimalarial drug with additional antithrombotic, cardioprotective, antimicrobial, and anti-neoplastic benefits.
