“…A closer view on CNTs demonstrates well maintained structure with a lattice spacing of 0.34 nm corresponding to its (002) plane, which can be observed in the selected area electron diffraction (SAED) pattern (Inset of Figure 3a, highlighted by arc). Noticeably, unlike the previous reports [17,20,[22][23][24]36,37], there is no observable evidence showing MoS 2 growth on CNTs surface in our examinations, which is possibly due to their extremely low concentration and negatively charged surface ( Figure S5), which is unfavorable for MoO 4 2 À anions attaching. However, the detailed mechanisms still need to be further clarified in future work.…”

“…In this regard, hybrid structures of TMD sheets (e.g., MoS 2 sheets) and conductive carbon materials (e.g., modified graphene heterostructures) have been investigated as advanced electrocatalysts for ORR . However, the nonintimate interactions between TMD and the carbon materials restrict the stability and cause homogeneity issues for electrochemical ORR . In addition, the hybrid structure of TMD materials and carbon materials for bifunctional electrocatalysts toward both ORR and OER has yet to be investigated.…”

“…It has been reported CNTs favored the growth of the tubular MoS 2 on the surface of carbon nanotube side walls and promoted the formation of tubular MoS 2 layers with high crystallinity272829, CNTs/MoS 2 composites have also been prepared by the simple solvothermal method3031. For example, tubular MoS 2 layers coating on CNTs were synthesized by the hydrothermal reaction between Na 2 MoO 4 and CS(NH 2 ) 2 with the presence of CNTs12.…”
