Abstract: After the Fukushima nuclear disaster, the nuclear materials community has been vastly investing in accident tolerant fuel (ATF) concepts to modify/replace Zircaloy cladding material. Iron–chromium–aluminum (FeCrAl) alloys are one of the leading contenders in this race.
