Hydrophobic Solvation: Aqueous Methane Solutions

Abstract: The solvation of methane in water will be used to discuss hydrophobic solvation effects. A phenomenological thermodynamical analysis of solvation provides a variant of Henry's law, which will be used to examine the connections between the excess chemical potential of solvation μex and the density of the solvent ρH2O.
