Hooker has been used for treating gonorrhea, syphilis, wounds and bleeding of the alimentary tract by the indigenous community (Tao, Zhao, Zhao, Cui, & Fang, 2012; Wang et al, 2013), and has been recorded in the Quality Standard of Chinese Crude Drugs in Hubei Province (Ge & Wan, 2008).
