Hydrology of area 21, Eastern Coal province, Tennessee, Alabama and Georgia

Abstract

A nationwide need for hydrologic information characterizing conditions in coal-resources areas was mandated with the enactment of the Surface Mining Control and Reclamation Act of 1977 (Public Law 95-87). This report is designed to be useful to mine owners and operators,, consulting engineers, and regulatory authorities by presenting information concerning hydrologic conditions and identifying additional sources of hydrologic information. The report format consists of brief texts and supporting illustrations or tables on a series of topics which together describe hydrologic conditions in the area.
