“…Recently, metal–organic framework (MOF) is an emerging porous coordination framework material formed by the coordination of metal ions or metal clusters with organic ligands. Compared with the traditional drug delivery system, MOF has broad application prospects in drug delivery due to its advantages of high porosity, large specific surface area and easy modification. Interestingly, the coordination between bivalent metal ions and organic ligands is reversible, which can be broken under low pH condition to achieve intelligent drug release. As a typical MOF, zeolite imidazole framework-8 (ZIF-8) is formed by the coordination of Zn 2+ with the N atom on the 2-methylimidazole (2-MIM). Zn 2+ is essential for human body and 2-MIM is involved in histidine metabolism . These advantages endow ZIF-8 with versatile biomedical applications as an ideal drug carrier.…”

“…In recent years, research has shifted towards Metal-Organic Frameworks (MOFs) and their derivatives (raw MOFs and composites) for fabricating electrochemical glucose sensors due to their attractive properties such as porous structure, large surface area, metallic active sites, and excellent electro-catalytic activity. 8,9 MOFs are a class of unique porous materials of composed of metal ions or clusters surrounded by multiple organic ligands that have attracted their consideration for application as active electrode materials for non-enzymatic glucose sensors. [10][11][12] Recently, Ni-MOF was prepared by using 2,3,6,7,10,11-hexahydroxytriphenylene and nickel precursor and fabricated as a non-enzymatic glucose sensor.…”
