Hydrodynamic Study on the Damping Characteristics of Cylindrical FPSO With the Heave Plate

Abstract: The heave plate setting up on the hull can effectively improve the movement performance of the cylindrical FPSO. In the research process of its damping effect, a reliable model is also needed to do the further study besides the physical model test. The objective of the present work is to establish a reasonable hydrodynamic model to investigate the damping behavior of the cylindrical FPSO with the heave plate. Based on the k-ε turbulence model and the VOF method, a three-dimensional hydrodynamic model are estab… Show more

“…At present, fork arm seat suspension is widely used in nonroad carrying equipment due to its good stability, high reliability and nonlinear stiffness characteristics. 26 To explore the dynamic vibration isolation performance and driving comfort of the fork arm seat system under different speeds in the transfer condition, the theoretical modeling and real car test of the fork arm seat suspension were carried out in the literature, 9,26 and the test showed that comfort was assessed as uncomfortable at 15 km/h. At speeds above 25 km/h, ride comfort is extremely uncomfortable and the construction machinery drives with poor smoothness.…”
