[3] In 1990, Carey et al [4] reported that at low flow conditions in the Mackenzie River system PAHs originated from petroleum-related sources, whereas under high flow conditions the PAH patterns were dominated by atmospherically dominated combustion-related PAHs that had been carried into the river by snowmelt.
