Hydro‐Analyses for the Engineer

Abstract

This text, like many European textbooks, would have to be considered by American standards as a ‘cookbook’ approach to engineering hydrology. The major methods used in the engineering analysis of hydrologic data are clearly presented and well illustrated with examples. How ever, the only information given is how to perform these analyses. The book is an authorized translation from the Czech language edition of Nemec's text Inženýrská Hydrologic first published by SNTL, Prague, in 1964. Although not specifically stated, some updating has been done, consisting mainly of insertions in the text of references to WMO publications. (Nemec is presently Chief of the Hydrology and Water Resources Department of the World Meteorological Organization.)
