Hydrazides as characteristic derivatives for the identification of esters, acids, salts, acid halides, acid anhydrides, acid amides, ureas and nitriles

Abstract: Methods for the identification of esters, acids. salts, acid halides. acid anhydrides, acid amides. ureas. and nitriles by means of the formation of crystalline hydrazides are described in this paper. The J a m i e s o n method was found to be most valuable for the rapid estimation of hydrazine nitrogen in hydrazides and their derivatives.
