Hybrid Truck-Drone Delivery Systems: A Systematic Literature Review

Abstract: Owing to the continued development of e-commerce, logisticians now have an outstanding obligation to tackle last-mile delivery challenges. A number of logistics providers have suggested the incorporation of drones with trucks to provide a more flexible delivery system. This paper analyzes the content of 95 publications related to hybrid truck-drone delivery systems (HTDDS) in the context of lastmile delivery. “…In this section, we furnish a concise exposition of antecedent research intimately associated with the present paper's undertaking. Should readers desire an exhaustive and in-depth analysis, they are encouraged to peruse the studies authored by Macrina et al [28] and Madani et al [29]. According to the number of trucks and vehicle-mounted drones, we can divide the truck and drone collaborative delivery problems into three categories (Table 1): TSPD, TSP-mD and VRPD.…”

“…Constraint (18) ensures that an equal number of launch and retrieve nodes are present per drone trip and that there is at most one launch node per trip. Constraint (19) indicates that each truck can only be used after leaving the depot. Constraint (20) indicates that drones are not allowed to independently complete tasks.…”
