Hybrid Measurements-Based Fast State Estimation for Power Distribution System

Abstract: The distribution grid is undergoing profound changes nowadays, and state estimator has become an essential part in the control room to enable future smart grid. The newly deployed micro phase measurement units (μPMU) and advanced metering infrastructure (AMI) devices make the real-time state estimation possible for distribution system. Therefore, this paper studies the incorporation and process of the multi-source measurements and proposes a fast three-phase state estimation based on the hybrid measurements sc… Show more

“…To model short-term load variations and the changes resulting from waiting in the processing queue in the proposed method, the values of standard deviation and mean are first calculated based on the old data. Whenever the ADSSE process is performed, the variance of each measurement is calculated and corrected by Equations ( 15)- (18). Hence, the R matrix is updated.…”

“…The hybrid weighted least squares state estimation algorithm based on PMU and SCADA is proposed in the study by Skok et al (2016), Silva et al (2017), and Santos and Orillaza (2018) for the three-phase unbalanced distribution network system, which not only ensures the global observability of the system, but also satisfies the economy and improves the accuracy of state estimation. A fast three-phase state estimation method based on hybrid measurements is proposed in He et al (2021). The redundancy of state estimation is significantly increased by increasing the voltage pseudo-measurements through μPMU measurements.…”
