Hybrid Materials: Strongly‐Coupled Freestanding Hybrid Films of Graphene and Layered Titanate Nanosheets: An Effective Way to Tailor the Physicochemical and Antibacterial Properties of Graphene Film (Adv. Funct. Mater. 16/2014)
Abstract:S. Park, S.‐J. Hwang, and co‐workers report the fabrication of strongly coupled hybrid films of reduced graphene oxide‐layered titanate with an unexpected high sterilization efficiency for Escherichia coli. On page 2288, E. coli cells exposed to the hybrid film are irreversibly destroyed by the edges of the nanosheets. The enhanced adhesion of bacteria on the rough surface of the hybrid films additionally contributes to their excellent antibacterial activity.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
