Abstract: Extracellular matrix (ECM) remodeling of cardiac tissue is a key contributor to age-related cardiovascular disease and dysfunction. Aberrant secretion, structural perturbations, and degradation of specific ECM components lead to significant alterations in ECM properties that disrupt healthy cell and tissue homeostasis.
