Hybrid Bloch brane

Abstract: This work reports on models described by two real scalar fields coupled with gravity in the five-dimensional spacetime, with a warped geometry involving one infinite extra dimension. Through a mechanism that smoothly changes a thick brane into a hybrid brane, one investigates the appearance of hybrid branes hosting internal structure, characterized by the splitting on the energy density and the volcano potential, induced by the parameter which controls interactions between the two scalar fields. In particular,… Show more

“…This occurs in the case of the Bloch brane [16], when one considers a two-field configuration which, in the flat spacetime leads to the so-called Bloch domain wall. Over the years, this model has been studied in several papers in the literature [17][18][19][20][21][22][23].…”

“…The Bloch brane allows the existence of internal structures and a rich variety of scalar field deformations. So, there are many other models based on the initial proposal of the Bloch brane, such the degenerate Bloch brane [1] and recently the hybrid Bloch brane [5]. The term "hybrid" comes from the existence of an interval with compact structure [6].…”

“…Unlike the kink where the energy density vanishes asymptotically, a compact kink is a linear compact structure, with the energy density that vanishes outside a closed interval [6]. Then, the Bloch brane proposed in the reference [5] is the so-called hybrid, because exhibits a usual thick brane inside an interval and a compact solution outside of this interval. We analyse in this work the gravity localization and a perspective to the application of corrections to Newton's law in the hybrid Bloch brane model.…”
