Abstract:The stabilization of human nightsoil mixed with water hyacinth (Eichhornia crassipes) and vegetable leaves by a simple composting method was found to be effective. This composting method does not require mechanical aeration or pile turning, but does retain most of the vaulable nutrients and inactivates a large portion of the microorganisms present in the compost piles.
