Human-centered Information for Decision-Making Processes of Future Space Designs

Abstract: In this paper, we propose a Space Inventory Management System (SIMS) framework that incorporates digital and analog data types to identify tangible space feature compositions as driving forces for user comfort and space choices. With a combination of real-time data from 3D stereo cameras and manually collected data points using a digitally advanced tool named ARCGIS PRO, the proposed framework get applied on a real case -An extension of a cafeteria area at the HL Lindner College of Business, USA. With the high… Show more

“…Human behaviour is key to the design and operation of spaces, which creates the opportunity to go beyond the physical and technical aspects of building performances when designing and managing building spaces. (Jens et al, 2020) A greater awareness in architects and planners of their real value to society could, at the present, result in that rare occurrence, namely, the improvement of the quality of life as a result of architectural endeavour. Cedric Price (Dorato, 2020) The state of the art is composed as a set of apparently scattered topics that are structured around 3 areas of research Figure 10, the methods for evaluating spaces during the use phase, the research on office spaces and coliving spaces and the technology to analyse spatial performance, use and users behaviour in these spaces.…”
